Automotive giant Skoda Auto has announced that it will increase global vehicle production to more than 888,000 units in 2023, an increase of around 108,000 vehicles compared to the previous year.

Of this total, more than 781,000 vehicles will come from the Czech Republic’s manufacturing plants in Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny, while over 52,000 vehicles were produced at the carmaker’s Indian plants. Škoda has also successfully produced more than 313,000 battery systems for fully electric vehicles on the MEB platform and for Volkswagen’s plug-in hybrid vehicles. A total of 11 production sites, including a newly opened production line in Vietnam and preparations for the return of production to Kazakhstan, are part of Škoda’s plant network. The main plant in Mladá Boleslav has produced approximately 556,000 vehicles of various models, including Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Octavia iV, Kamiq, Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé. The Kvasiny plant was involved in the production of 225,000 Karoq, Kodiaq, Superb and Superb iV cars, while 686,066 DQ200 automatic transmissions were built in Vrchlabí. The Bratislava plant produced over 36,000 Karoq SUVs and several hundred new-generation Superb cars.

Škoda Auto has ceased production of 2,580 cars in the form of partially disassembled kits at the Ukrainian Eurocar plant in Solomonov. The total number of Skoda employees exceeded 40,000, and the carmaker now offers 11 model lines. It has increased car deliveries by 18.5 percent to 866,800 in 2022. In addition, it plans to launch a new all-electric model, the Elroq, in 2023.
