Google Pixel 9 and AI Gemini, the future of smartphones is here
Google unveiled a number of new features, dominated by the anticipated Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. In addition to the new phones, the Gemini artificial intelligence has also seen significant changes, bringing a slew of new features.
Gemini is now integrated into the new Pixel 9, but is also making its way to other Android devices. Of particular note is the Gemini Live feature, which is an interactive chatbot that you can interact with like a friend in a very natural and fluid way.
Gemini Live allows you to discuss a wide range of topics, whether it’s personal problems, brainstorming ideas or finding new information. A new feature is the ability to pause the conversation and return to it at any time, allowing for easier and longer-lasting communication. You can even chat with the chatbot when your phone is locked or the app is running in the background.
Unfortunately, this service will not be available to all users. For now, it’s only for those with a Gemini Advanced subscription, and it’s also only available in English. However, users who get the new Pixel 9 will be able to try Gemini Live for free for 6 or 12 months.
Another significant change is that Gemini is gradually replacing Google Assistant as the default AI on new phones, especially on the Pixel 9 models. Thanks to its new capabilities, it can pull information from videos, generate images, or help you with scheduling in apps like Calendar, Notes, and Messages, for example. It can write you an email in Gmail and also replaces Google Assistant in Google Home. In addition, Gemini can analyze screenshots and use them to find the products or information you want.
