SAP has extended the employment contract of CEO Christian Klein for another three years and appointed him Chairman of the Board.

This decision was announced today. Klein, who has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2018, began sharing the role of CEO in October 2019 and was promoted to the company’s sole CEO in April 2020.

Professor Hasso Plattner, chairman of SAP’s supervisory board, praised Klein’s contribution to SAP’s transformation to a cloud-based company and highlighted his role in the company’s success. The extension of Klein’s contract and his appointment as Chairman of the Management Board was important for SAP’s continued growth in a dynamic IT environment.

Klein himself expressed his gratitude to the Supervisory Board and looks forward to continuing to work with colleagues and partners. He emphasized the successful execution of the company’s strategy in recent years and SAP’s goal of becoming a market leader in enterprise applications and the use of artificial intelligence in business.

Christian Klein has been part of SAP since 1999 and has held various positions over the years, including CFO and COO.
