In 2023, the Czech internet company Seznam.cz recorded a slight increase in its revenues by 0.18% to a total of CZK 5.939 billion.

Similarly, pre-tax profit increased slightly by 6.06% to CZK 1.362 billion compared to the previous year. Pavel Zima, a member of the board of directors of Seznam.cz, hailed this result as very successful, despite initial expectations of a cooling of the domestic online market and the ongoing economic recession. Thanks to sober investment planning and a more favourable economic development, it was possible to surpass the sales of 2022, a result that was backed by the entire team of employees and loyal users of Seznam.cz.

In 2023, Seznam.cz strengthened its market position and continues to focus on fulfilling its long-term vision of becoming a comprehensive platform for various types of services. These services include content, advertising, communications, social, e-commerce and cloud services. One significant step was the opening of a second in-house Nagoya data centre in Venice nad Jizerou in March 2023. At the same time, the content on the Seznam.cz homepage was increased to include information from local governments and the introduction of fact-checking, which brings manipulative comments to light.

Seznam.cz has also invested in the development of its services, such as Mapy.cz, which saw a 22% increase in the number of navigations, and Sreality.cz, which introduced a new investment tool, the Price Map of Apartment Prices in the Czech Republic. In addition, the transition to a new and better vector model has significantly improved search results on these platforms.

Seznam.cz also believes in its own artificial intelligence and uses it to improve its services. A new team focused on developing a generative language model is working on implementing this model into other Seznam.cz services, which includes search.

In the audio market, Seznam.cz has had a breakthrough with Hacsiko, the first presenter with a synthetic voice created by artificial intelligence, which began airing on the airwaves of Expres FM radio in June 2023. This represents the first venture of its kind not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Europe.

Artificial intelligence is also important in the Seznam.cz discussion ecosystem, where it processes and classifies comments. Year-on-year, the number of comments increased by 24% and active users by 43%.

Preparations for a future without third-party cookies in Google Chrome are also underway. Seznam.cz is focusing on working with user identity and transparency of user data to offer users the best possible user experience even after the end of third-party cookies. In doing so, Seznam.cz is preparing for new conditions in the online advertising market and is looking for new ways to distribute its solutions through the Seznam Login program.
